It's beautiful spring day. The birds are chirping. The air is crisp and cool. The grass is green. And love (or intense fondness) is in the air. The Junior Prom is afoot. BoyFriend is escorting Lovely Daughter to this years festivities and we decided to make a short trip to the lovely GazeboPondFountain thingy to take 462 pictures. Luckily for you, I'll whittle them down to the best 2 or 3.
We weren't actually camping, but we know many people who were. They rounded up the RV's and parked them at Babler on one of the best weekends of the spring so far. L.W. and I went out on Friday evening to enjoy good food and good friends. And good meat. Actually, the only thing better than meat is meat outdoors. There was also good fire. Seems like there's always at least one pyromaniac in the crowd.
The 2007 Season of the Eastern Missouri Dodgeball Association has begun. This year it's bigger and better than ever with over 30 teams competing for fame, glory and trophies. Last year, it was the Western St. Charles County Dodgeball Association, but this year it has spread to all of Eastern Missouri. Next year, perhaps the Midwest Dodgeball Association. But, as the Association gets larger, my part seems to get smaller. Last year, I was named "Vice President of Thursday Nights" by the League Commissioner. This year, I'm just a ref. I guess the VP had to go to an undisclosed location. Anyway, you can see all the antics and league updates at our Dodgeball Website of which I am the webmaster.
...but not deeper in debt. But that's another story for another day. Today is a day of celebration. A celebration of me. Where everyone around me rejoices in the very essense of Ericness. Well...I did get a couple of nice shirts...and a book...and some good grub. Thanks to all who sent cards and gifts and to all who thought of me or called me on my birthday.
Spring has always been my favorite time of year. The skies are vivid blue. The air is cool and fresh. New growth is vibrant green. And the trees. This year the trees are amazing. Extra bloominess.
...bring rainbows. And this was an exceptionally brilliant bow. I could probably see around 150o of arc. At one point, I could even see a secondary bow. Notice how the colors are reversed in the secondary bow.
