We had a very nice Mother's Day. We went to church and then out to Olive Garden. We paid homage to our Matriarch and played charades. I provided some very nice jokes (some may disagree) as entertainment. It was a very pleasant day. The picture above is from our recent Church Directory sitting.
Today was Lovely Daughter's first day on the job. She's joined the workforce. This afternoon, she was filled with excitement and a little anxiety as she anticipated her first "training" day. When I picked her up this evening, she was brimming with happiness and the satisfied feeling of "a job well-done"...and her hands smelled wonderful. I'm looking forward to the regular paychecks (babysitting is just so spotty) so she doesn't have to hit me up for a sawbuck every time I turn around. You go Girl!
Well, I had so much fun yesterday that I decided to go even further back. Also in the vault are some home movies taken in the early 1940's. These are of my Dad (Bruce--as he was known in those days) and his sister (Lynn) and their mother and father (Alice and Harry). There are some other folks, but I'm not sure who they are.
I'm speaking of my father and my son. You be the judge.
Today I took a nostalgic stroll down Memory Lane. You see, Brother had converted all the old 1960's vintage Super 8 from the decaying VHS tapes to DVD and gave them to all of us this past Christmas. I thought it would be cool to do a few screen captures--just so you can get the flavor of my childhood (it was great, by the way).
