Blessing of the Fleet

Avast me Hearties

Here in Lake Saint Louis, we have a tradition. Each year, at the beginning of the boating season, there is an official Blessing-of-the-Fleet. All the boats parade by and a local priest-pastor-rabbi-etc requests a blessing for safety and enjoyment in the coming year. Over the years, the participants have spiced it up a bit and began to decorate their boats. This has evolved into a competition whereby the boats are judged and prizes are awarded. This year, the Pirates won. We hope God will bless the Pirates and all those who enjoy our lake.

Recovery

take back the gimp tools
Today is the day that we take back all the gimp tools. Lovely Wife's recovery has progressed to the point where she no longer needs the wheelchair or the walker. It's been five long months since the accident and she is now able to walk with only a cane. She's been quite brave through all the adversity. She's had an excellent and positive outlook and I'm sure that has aided in her recovery--or at the very least made it less dreary. So, congratulations L.W. You're making great strides!

Mother's Day

Thanks Mom

Today is the day when we celebrate our Mothers and all the great things they have done for us this year and in our lives (hi Mom). For us Dads, it's also a time when we celebrate the Mother of our children. This last bit was a bit confusing to me (she's not my mother), but over the past 18 years, I've gradually caught on. This year, we all paid tribute to Mom. Thanks Mom for all you do--for all of us.
